maybe check the valves, that what might did when the valves were out of adj, it either idled really high or didnt idle at all. hope this helps

mess with the air fuel screw and see what that does, try to get it at 2 1/2 turns out. if it dont help you might have to drop a size on your pilot jet it might be to big

Popping on decell is lean and is ok mine does until the motor gets up to operating temp. i adjust fuel screw when motor is hot. fuel screw and pilot control idle. If popping is real bad after motor is hot and pilot is not cloged and fuel screw is more than 2 1/2 turns out. You may have air leak you said it idles high or low when at low idle spray starting fluid around carb if idle goes up you have air leak. another way to check is to rev up motor and chop throttle if motor takes along time to decell could be air leak if no air leak go to bigger pilot.

after i cleaned it, it was bored when i got it, and 3 days after i bought it the can chain broke, so i want through and redid everything.

and mudzilla ill try what you said, once i find what ur talkin about... this carb is new to me, but give me a FCR and i can rebuild the whole thing no prob.

I helped him out on facebook, he just turned his fuel screw out 1.5 times and adjusted the idle basically.
