My 300ex has went through 2 batteries in prolly 5 months. It has also been dyin out of nowhere and will fire right back up. I do have a heavy duty starter button rigged to the silinoid for startin. Long story. Anyways I've checked all possibly problems the battery is plum dead. Could this be a stator problem? The stator is from 1995? Whatcha think?

Is there any motor mods done to it? I know when i over tightened my valves it caused my battery to go dead cuz it had a hard time to crank it but when i readjusted them everything went back to normal.

Motor has been rebuilt like 3 years ago. Never had the problem before.

Well where are u getting your batteries and are you getting the right size? And when you say heavy duty starter button what do u mean? Plus is the 300ex charging the battery?

We were having problems with Walmart batteries, but switched to a Yuasa and havnt had a problem since. BUT, I also try to keep it on a battery tender whenever possible.

I would check your "heavy Duty" stator button, make sure it is not draing the battery. Is the switch geting it's power directly from the battery of is it wired through the key switch? Also you could try disconnecting the battery between rides, if the battery is still dead then you know it is not your bike runnig the battery dead and just a junk battery.

My starter button doesn't work, so I hooked up a push button starter to my silinoid so i didn't have to take the seat off every time to start it.
