If you could find a Kawasaki Brute Force 650 or 750 that would be a great buy.. They are super fast and just plain nasty

not sure about 3 grand yet but it isnt impossible. one of the can am 800s would get my vote. either an outlander or renegade. i dont think you will get a gade for 3 grand but you might be able to find an outlander for that.

The can ams gonna be the fastest, but you arent gonna find one for 3k.

Probably the kawi or the grizz is what your gonna wind up with.

Back in the day a Polaris Scrambler 400 2-stroke was pretty dang fast for a 4-wheel drive. But im sure the new Can-Ams are alot faster,

im thinking of going with the scrambler 400 2 stroke. There is one in my area for sale. is there a big difference between 4 and 2 (speed wise) and would i have to pre-mix the 2-stroke?

I personally wouldnt buy a polaris, they arent built well at all.

If your you mean 4 stroke vs 2 stroke there is a huge difference. The 2 strokes have more power, easier to maintain, and are funner to ride (for me). 4 strokes have more bottom end and are harder and more expensive to maintain. Yes you would have to premix, probably 40:1.

No you will not have to pre-mix the gas/oil. Unless it has been removed by a previous owner, a 400 Scrambler will have oil injection. As far as a polaris not being well built, that is simply not true. Opinions are going to vary, and everyone has there favorite brand, but the truth is they will all have their pros and cons. And no matter what you buy, there is a chance you will end up with problems. Look around, find what you like and buy it.

Yeah my bad. I was thinking about 2 strokes in general. Like stated above, it has oil injection and doesn't need premix.
