Last time I was at the races I saw a new 400ex that was water cooled with a radiator and some other weird lookin stuff.

Is that the 400x???

A 400x isnt water cooled?? but they have jet looking plastics. Did it look like this one?

no, it had the rounder style plastics like a 450, the kid said it was a 400ex but it was water cooled and looked brand new?

The 400x looks way better...lol.

The 04-05 450rs look alomost dead up like a 05-07 400ex, the 06-09 450rs have a different headlight and front end look, more like a newer 300. Probally a 450r they dont make a water cooled 400ex or x. Why make problems you dont have as honda says. So they kept the reliable air cooled motor

i have seen some 400ex's with a liquid cooled add on bt i think u could have been lookin at the oil cooler maybe?

ya there oil cooler motor still and there not 398cc anymore they are 389cc now i went to the honda shop here in town and look one over before they put it back together and i dont like them.....just saying

I sat on a new ex at the dealer, the seat and tank area is slimmer like the 450 is.

Dude what are you talking about then 400ex has never been 398cc... They always have been 397cc and will stay that way. Dont believe me look at honda.com

I know that Fourstroke Tech makes a aux. oil cooler for the 400ex/x my 04 racer will have one.

in my opinion the styling of the 400x looks horrible. too much going on. its chaotic and too many sharp edges. honda made that quad gaudy looking. the best styling on those was when they came out with new styling in 05 i believe it was

agreed i dont much like the new one well actually i hate them. The 05-07 isnt bad but for me the old bug eye frog eye whatever ya wanna call (99-04) it takes the cake cause i just think it looks sweet

I like them all. In fact my 04 racer will have 05-07 plastic so i can have a scoop on the nose for cooling

Thats my 02 but its got maier Race cuts instead of the stock ones.

I personally like all of them to the olds ones (99-04) look like they should cause they are older lol. But to me there all cool the body style fits the year. But that's my opinoin. (No offense to the guys running 99-04 400s saying there old I like em for real that's what I origanlly wanted a yellow one but I thought it'd be smarter to buy a brand new one).lol

Yes i know, thats just when i had it set on the quad before i tore it all apart now its got the +2 arms 450r shocks and +4 axle should look alot better.
