Anyone ever build a burning laser?

I been thinking of building a 300mw laser that can burn stuff pretty sure i know how. Any one here ever build a laser?

It's easy to make. A $700 laser you can build for $20. I was going to just buy a high power laser but it seems they are all banned in the usa only under 5mw you can buy when I want at least a 200mw so have no choise but to buy the parts from china and make it my self. blue, green, red, infared. Greens the brightest but not hottest. 300mw can reach over 100 miles being high power you see the laser line not just dot.

haha im in the process of building a blu ray laser pointer right now 450mw i beleve

I've read about people building them with an old computer using the CD burner.

please keep us posted. i was looking into this a while back. ive seen youtube vids and all on it. never got around to it. it looked a little to hard for me. i really want to try it though.

Maybe im not sure. Its the blue ray players that are used. You take the laser out of em and use it to build a blue burning laser. But no point in breaking somthing to get the laser out of it when you can buy the laser diode for a few dolars. I looked at cd player and ps2 lasers and they cant be used. But i heard a xbox laser does.

450 that's high if thats what it is. Laser reflect into your eyes once and your eyes will be focked. 5mw and under wont hurt your eyes at less you put it in your eye for 10 secs or more. But a 1mw red laser made me need to go to eye doctor. It made me get a cyst on my eye ball. Felt like a rock stuck in corner of my eye for a good week. I look and saw a bump nice little clear bump on my eye ball really same as a blister they didnt cut it cause a month later it was gone but now still the spot it was at i have a bunch of red veins going to the spot that dont go away.
