PROVEN POINT LOOK 08 GAS TANK DOES NOT FIT 07 frame or plastics

Ok so i bought an 08 tank, i thought it would fit my 07 frame because i was told it would, BS! Heres a picture proving it, the petcock doesent even line up with my 07 rear fenders, my front 07 plastics dont even line up right there a 1/2" off,

So question is , will be 08 plastic be different then my 07s?

Ya you need more than just the tank dude they can fit as i know people who have them on there 07s so if they told you just the tank is all you need then they did lie to you

so what more do i need then? the heat protector is the same thourhgb oth years so its not that, i have 07 and 08 petcokes and brackets so what else could it be

I will have to ask my buddy for sure but from what i remeber you need tank cover and the black peice that the tank sits on as well i think that was it i remember i priced it out at a dealer it was like 300 bucks for everything

i oredered the tank cover and the tank has the black piece on it but still why would my fender be off?

Ok he said you have to have tank, all mounts, straps, bolts, petcock, cap, and heat shield. He said everything new runs about 500 bucks

Im not doupting him but the heatshiled for 07 and 08 are the same number, ive got the petcock, brackets bolts cap, so all i would need is the straps then?

NOTE: Just noticed the 08 heat shield sits lower then a 07 hopefully that resolves it all

Also is 07 rear plastic the exact same as 08?

if i give ya my cell number can you have him send me a pic of how the gap is betwwen the tank and rear fender?

just get the heat shield and it will bolt right up, how do i know? ive had an 08 tank on mine for 2 seasons. the 07 plastic will fit fine with the newer heat sheild

just ordered it, new bands, bolts, and the bushing spacer thing

Ya he runs 07 plastic on it

Cut the rubbers on both sides with a knife that they are 4mm thick and the tank fit's perfect

08 tank, 07 heat shield and plastic with a lowered sub frame. I only cut the rubbers on the heat shield

You could of saved a lot of time,stress and money and just got a trp cover,and have a higer fuel capacity with ur 07 tank

TRP I hope you have some covers for a little while!!! im spending all extra cash trying to finish the 250, when im done the 250r i'll be looking to get some parts from you,.... I wish you got into the 250 market!!!
