Anyone who has done this conversion does is there any chain alignment issues?

I got a '88-'89 swingarm and am looking to put a 400ex axle in it

The was a kid on on here but have not seen any post from him in a while (set the stage) he had a 300 with a 250r swinger, I think he bought it that way. He siad there weren't any spacers in the rear and the chain was fine. I have a feeling you going to get a few differant answers. I have a 400ex swinger but I had to put a spacer in the rear cause the chain was 1/4" to the left. But that is 400ex, a 250r may be differant. I would just take it apart and see how bad it is going to be. The worst part is the prolink.

The pro-link is no issue, that taken care of. I just trying to decide between a 400EX/250R axle and a 450R, I think the are a little different between them.

I think the swingarm on the 450 is different from the first (2) years vs. the rest of the years. the 400ex swinger is (1.8") longer than 300ex and I belive the first and second year 450 are (3") longer than 300ex. As far as widths go at the pivot point I have no idea. I know on mine (400ex swap) the 400 swinger fit right in and I used the 300ex pivot bolt and sleve. I just had to put a spacer on the sproket to move the chain over about the width of another sproket.

250r and 400ex can use same carriers and axles. really you can use any trx axle on either one of them.

i am personaly not a fan of swaping out swingarm for somthing not designed for it.

i use to run a 300ex axle with a 450R antifade.

my buddy at hreatv.com can build you anything you need.
