The yfz450r has a ton of extra useless parts that you can remove to loose some unwanted weight. to answer the kick start question. I'm working on a kit now that uses 09' dirt bike cases and will be machining a totally new back half of the frame to accommodate for a bump out for the kick lever. the only problem is I just started this project and have a lot of testing first before making it available to the public.

yeah i was thinking of goin that route with the kicker but i didnt know if the frame was an issue thanks and a list of all the uneeded part would be awsome.

Ya that would be awesome if you could list some of the stuff to take off. Besides the usuals like headlights and maybe a lighter battery not much I can think of.

Wouldn't removing the battery for kickstart mess with how the EFI turns on?

Theres plenty of kickstar EFI bikes/quads out there

How exactly does the fuel pump turn on then? Not trying to be a jerk or anything, just curious.

idk how that works but i would opt for a smaller lighter battery im would asume that your stator would cover that maybe upgrade it to a stronger one. i belive all the battery is for is lights and the starter after that the only thing that needs power is the ecu but this is a guess not actually fact just my idea the older yfzs were carb so you didnt need a battery you just needed a resistor for the extra current
