How does car body paint hold up on the frame and subframe?

all paint will wear fast and ding and scratch off easy. Powder coat is the only way to go if you want something to hold up

It CAN hold up OK, but for the price you would spend on the good product i.e. etching primer, basecoat, hardner, catalyst, reducer and clear to do the job RIGHT its damn near the same price just to powdercoat it. And powdercoat will always outlast and outperform paint.

Check out pappys Sig it has his company and there prices he's pretty close to most places maybe a little cheaper so add 10 20 bucks to his prices it also depends if they need stripped.

Por-15 Hardnose is the way to go if you aren't powdercoating.

Should be no more than $200 for just a frame and subframe. Thats including sandblasting.
Last one I did I had my frame, subframe, swingarm, steering stem, hubs and nerfs all powdercoated a nice deep hammered blue and It cost me $240 for everything including them sandblasting it. And that was one of the better, more expensive companies here in my town. But as I said for just a frame and sub frame it should be around $200 or less for blasting and coating.

i paid around 100 for a-arms, frame, swing arm, sub frame. It was originally suppose to be 170 but he took some off for talkin longer than exspected

I've had several pc'd over the years and it seems like it was usually $200-250 depending on what all i had done and what colors i picked. Some of the candy colors were a little higher. Also, speaking of colors. I would suggest a color that is easy to touch-up if you're going to have this quad for some time. Glossy black , white,silver ect can be touched up with a can of spray paint. With the candy and flourescent colors you can't do that.

ive spray painted my frame with duplicolor but i forget which one, it was a special one but not that expensive, just did a standard primer and then cleared on top, just painted close to the stock silver color and that stuff held up really good. I used it for 2 seasons and it looked really good, never chipped or anything, some scratches and the underside was scraped but for a $20-30 job it was amazing

Wow those prices are crazy cheap. By the time you add up the stripping cost and cleaner and powder then electric they can't be making much. At one point there was only one place doing pc local then about 5 years they opened 10 shops within 1 hour of me with some nice equipment and ovens big enough to do truck frames. And now they all closed but 2.

LOL, local place here tried charging $745 for a yfz frame, sub, swinger, stem and a-arm set.

I think you will find the average price for a frame and sub range from $150 to $500 nationwide.
