Hey guys, here is my dilema.... i have a set of trx450r front shocks on my ex. I ride MX, and am considering switching to yfz shocks because i heard they were better. What are th the pro's to switching?? and whats the cons??? I really don't ride trails often enough to care, because thats what the kx and lt250r are for.

They are just softer from what I gather. You gotta trim off quite a bit from the shock eye to get them to fit the EX tho.

Could always revalve the 450R shocks

YFZ will drop your front end down 1 inch also from what i have heard.

I put a set of yfz shocks on my raptor, i forget if they have rebound adjustability or not.. i think they do though. Which is really nice to have, especially if youre racing it, me thinks

I did the yfz 450 shock mod. I really like them for mx. Nice low wide feeling. They are not that bad on trails either i find. I made a video of me doing an install. Here is the link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvP6QpYf3mA)

I think the difference is the 450r shocks are a little too long and the yfz shocks are a little too short for the ex. Also, the yfz has progressive springs, so they are able to sag more than the 450rs. Your best bet is keeping the 450r shocks and getting them revalved and resprung.
