kx 60 / china hybrid

:p i do used parts salvage for quads, every now and then we get one of these little chinese quads in and more times than less we scrap them so recently i got one of these little 450r look alikes in and decided to throw a kx 60 engine in it

just have the motor sitting in it for now, used a pipe off a ktm 65, have to modify the flange

kicker clears fine havent started making any mounts yet

used some piggy back cr 80 shocks from the early 80's on the front, there really soft be about perfect for a kid, u can see the cheesy fronnt mounts that come stock

made up a new front shock mount

yeah for sure, ball joints arent too bad but the spindles are cast iron or some garbage

no ones going to race or mx this , its just to rip around the yard on, i could always throw some 400ex spindles and hubs on but i dont want to waste them on this

thats a hy-bird or yerfdog 200cc. i have one now. i make between 3-600 profit per bike on those cause everybody throws them away for cheap. i love when that happens. always something easy too.

how heavy is that chassis? looks bulky.

i think ur confused on how big this thing is haha, its smaller than a trx 90, it had a 100cc honda 50 style engine on it, think if you scaled a 450r downn to the size of lt 80 basically

i havent weighed it but its definetely lighter than a lt 80 or trx 90 , i have a couple of those here...

these china quads use some real crap metal tho, poor welds too, honestly if i was going to put anyonne on one the frames could sure use alot of touch up

lol idk how it came out like that. What i meant to say was what type of quad is that (brand, model). I have been wanting to do a build like that with a xr100 motor i have, just for a pitbike.

yeah cause mine looks identical to the green one and its a 200cc four stroke. i should have know buy the tank. becareful when you put a fuel line on it. those tanks suck, the nipple snaps right off. they are using steel tanks now. i have plenty of the smaller ones as well. hopefully the power of the motor doesnt kill the frame. im in the middle off putting a yz450 motor in a lown mower. setting it up for 100ft drag racing.

oh yeah its definetly bigger. i have a couple sunl and toa toa 90 and 110cc. but i have a 200cc one about the size of a 450r that looks just like that green one in pic. i know there junk but people give them away. i just fix and sell. just wanted to let you know on the tank. they always crack on the nipple, use real flexible line and make sure there is no tention on it. your going to burn the balls right outta the cheap wheel bearings with that motor. lol

lol yeah i know it, i wonder if these are robot welded or by workers....because there pretty poorly welded and fit together

well im becoming a dealer with my friend for them. we can get the small ones in the low 400 range from a wholesaler who is making money and buying them from china. so how in the hell can they make a atv that cheap. i meen it cant be more than 175 a machine cause the whole saler and overseas shipping cost money you know. a frame new is $50 bucks just blows my mind.

yeah its crazy ! you can get honda copy motor 110cc for $150 new . there aren,t that bad quads the Kazumes are awesome for the price and hold up pretty good ,my friend has one that hes, had 5yrs and still runs awesome its a Kazume 50 I think. would be cool to get one and gusset frame and put 125 2-stroke motor in it.heres a pic of a real BA china quad

made a lil more progress got the radiator mount roughed out, need to make front motor mounts do some minor finishing

I got a kazume 110 frame ready for motor ,cant wait till I get back working to save up for motor was thinking about doing the same .Was thinking CR80/125 .What kind of frame is that in PIC ?And what about the radiator in the middle of front end?instead of on right side .what about making hoses longer and going in front of steering stem is there room?But it looks good so far!

it will hit the pipe if its mounnted in the center, and up front id have to butcher the front fenders , im using the stock kx 60 radiator shroud

its a sun l 110 chassis , if i wanted to put alot of time in i think i could of made this a decent mx quad for a kid

i also had to move the foot pegs back, its ridiculous there mounted so far forward idk what there thinking

yeah i changed ou the position on all 3 shocks compared to other minis it was very tall andwe changed all the shocks, front shocks are cr 80 rears,

rear shock im not quite sure its just a random one we grabbed off the shelf to balance out the front and rear, they are pretty plush, a 200 pound guy bottoms them out but a 80-110 pound kid should be perfect ,

the fronts look cool with the piggy back resvoirs, there showas i beleive, maybe kyb but i can switch them out for 300ex front shocks which are the same length

it was really odd how far forward the pegs were, id say they were just in front of the center of the wheelbase, i moved them back to where i felt they should be i just hope there isnt much interference with the rear fenders

im keeping the stock tires , ideally if a kid wanted to ride it competitively there would be alot more work to do , eespecially with spindles and balljoints as mentioned, i may eventually do this but right now its getting everything fit and functioning and beef it up from there
