hi everyone well i did a comp test and leak down test on a 2003 400ex i just picked up and it showed not that good of results i pulled the head off dumped some liquid down the exhaust and intake port and had a little bit of leakage out of the valves what are some options i have. could i just try to lap the valves and see if that fixes it or is that more of tempary fix the head is all stock

Its always better to have the seats cut but you can try to lap them and see if that takes care of it. Just make sure you have stock valves and not aftermarket coated valves. It will damage the valve if you put lapping compound on a coated valve.

if you did a compression test and it come out low,it could be rings and piston.

if i come out with low compression i always look at piston and rings.

my comp is low cuz i got a head leak haha

sounds like yours is prolly rings

while i was doing my leak down test i heard air coming from my exhaust and intake and when i took my head off i dumped liquid down my exhaust and intake ports and it was leaking out ..........where is a good place to send the head and get re cut about how much

DO YOU NEED NEW VALVES WHEN YOU GET YOUR SEATS CUT
