View Full Version : FCR 40MM on 400ex?

Has anyone used the FCR 40mm carb from the new CRF dirtbike and mounted on a 400ex? I know the 39 and 41 bolt right up but wasen sure the 40 would? (maybe different lenght) You can get the complete carb from servicehonda.com for a little over $300. Anyone have both the 400ex and crf to check it out?

From what Rocky Ridge racing told me,,the 40 FCR carb out powers the 39 and the 41....:macho I"m lookin into one right now as a matter of fact...:devil

I tried to fit a 40mm carb on my 400ex. The outside is larger and does not fit on the 400ex without hitting the frame. I wear out parts fast enough with out problems like that.

What parts are needed with this new FCR 40mm? It looks as though both the intake boot from filter to carb as well as from carb to head would have to replaced with a 'bigger' mount? Predator--was the 40 mm you tried specifically the FCR carb? Maybe other brands of 40mm may be taller then the FCR is. I do know the 39 and 41 both fit fine in stock carb location; maybe the other was just taller?
