View Full Version : how do i remove swing arm bearings?

Ok so i bought a pivot work bearing kit and hsould have it in a week or so but i cant find a write up or how to on how to remove the bearings... so any help in my situation?

Just press the old bearings out and press new ones in. If you don't have a Honda manual I would get one.

What if i dont have acces to a press?

Well you can take a sockect that best fits in the swingarm.

First take the outside cap/seal off. Then take the inside collars out. Then there are 2 dust seals on the inside, 4 total. You can take a socket, 19mm I think with an extension and use a hammer to get them out. If you are replacing them you won't have to worry about messing them up. Now when they go back in you will have to be careful.

Tap them outside in?

Inside out. You will have to get a long extension to go through one side to push the otherside out. You could do it from either way but you would have to remove the collar on the outside of the swingarm which is usually in there pretty good.

The best way to do that is by cutting the outer rase. Be careful tho u don't want to cut in to the swing arm to bad.
