Get the right tools and you can polish quite a bit:
Side cases, oil filter cover, brake calipers, motor mounts, swingarm(if your nuts). Keep in mind to get a nice finish the tools and compunds are pricy. I have about $250 in tools and that is cheap because I happened to have a die grinder, compresser & stripper. All that I had to do was get ahold of a buffer and place a order at eastwoodco.com:devil

Before you go hopping into this you might want to consider how much time it takes. I am sure pappy, chris, muff and anyone else that has done quite a bit of polishing will agree

There is nothing wrong with not wanting to pay some one to do it when you know that you can. Just be ready to shell out some $ for equipment/buffs/compunds and alot of time. The little things are easy. Just make sure you are in it for the long run when you decide to do the side cases:huh

AnywhereEX said it right... Its costly... Its better to send the small pieces out because they wont pay themselves off to break even with eqiupment...
its if your doing the little things and KNOW ur goint to do the sidecases OR start a small buissness out of it like the 3 of us in this post are doing.

I would not mind making a buisness of it. I definitly have the equipment but as it is all i hear is B*TC&^G all the time from the old lady that I never spend enough time at home now:grr
