This is my 400. All I did was refresh the engine and add Suspension.

The way it started.

I didn't think the frame was this rusty.

dc01

I had the frame PC'd Ghost Black. It shines but has a smoke look to it.

The stock stem and bars seemed too short. So I fixed that with a 1" Houser stem and Turner fat bar combo from Motosport.

I got these lock on grips too.

Wow, I just went back through this thread and I definitely should have used the spell check more. lol.

Oh well, on with it. This is what the motor turned out like after the stainless steel bolt pack.

I had alot of fun building this thing and by no means is it done. I still have alot to do but the main stuff is complete. I would like to get a GT Thunder link but I cant decide if I want to run 18" or 20" tires. I'm definitely going to do a 416 or 426 kit with a Cirtis Sparks X1 cam and GT Thunder studs. But for the meantime I'm waiting on a garage.

Thanks for looking at my bike guys. And thanks for this great site.

How much did it end up costing for the engine PC? Did you split the center cases or send the whole bottom end off to PC as one piece? I've been wanting to do this but have been putting it off because I would want the entire engine black and don't really feel like tearing into the bottom end to make it complete :(.

Really nice quad and awesome build. I think a 416 or 426 would be a nice mod and make you grin ear to ear.

getting the rear shock set-up for you would be another good way to spend a few dollars.

very nice bike! did you spray paint the motor or is that powdercoat? either way it turned out sweet :blah:

and as for the GT thunder link, I love mine and would recomend one to anybody that wants to both lower their rear end ride hight and get more plush shock travel. it would be best though if you weigh over 150lbs to just send em your back shock and have it re-done, cause it makes it pretty soft with just the link.

I spray painted the engine with engine paint. Didn't know if I wanted it that color. I will powder coat the cases if the engine paint dosen't hold up.

And as far as the GT link, witch one do you have? Im leaning towards running 18" tires with 8" beadlocks, I think that would look the best and I think they would be ok for woods riding too.

Thanks man, but it was wet with new plastics on it in that picture. When I tore it apart I was just going to put a new set of rings and a timing chain in but that plan went out the window once I found out that someone near me was powder coating. Then once I did that it was all down hill from there. But I have to say that it turned out great.

Your quad looks really good. May I suggest some color for the swingarm and hipers with red or black rings would really set it off.

you are definitly going to want 20" tires for the woods. the ground clearance is important.

18" rears with 8" beadlocks... 20" fronts. Polished lips with the inside of the rim powder coated black. After that the quad is perfect!!

It's for a 400. I got lucky and found one 50 miles away for 80 bucks!

Some black beadlocks with red rings and PC the nerfs is the only other thing i would do. Nice bike
