I hope everyone realizes that we (in the us) get our oil from venezuela, not iraq. And we don't hardly use any of our own (ever hear of the alaskan pipeline?).

So why the price hike, then?

Read the news. Those Venzuelans have been on strike. I don't know if they are back yet, but they have been on strike for awhile.

i was talking to someone yesterday and he told me that when the news people aired bin ladens speech, the gas price went up 10 cents. but ya they are suppose to go even higher. now they are at 1.74 for the cheap stuff..

Just so you know.. we have the cheapest gas prices in the world. Some contries have 4$ + gas prices. That is a reason so many third world contries hate us. I can handle a $2 a gallon gas price for a few months. :) Just not a nuclear war..

Gas is between 1.60 to 1.70 for 87.

02-12-2003, 02:16 PM
Doibugu2- We also get it from other places besides Venezuela. The prices have gone up for several reasons. The threat of war being the main one. Its $1.37 here for regular unleaded.

are you going to use your own oil rather than taking everyone elses frist? like it's pretty much a stargict move by the us if they use up all of everyone else oil they will be able to control the price of oil in later years

02-12-2003, 02:38 PM
I run 110 octane at $4 a gallon in everything including my truck so the price hike is no biggy to me...:huh

derekhonda-- amen brutha! i drive a triaxle everyday, and when your truck makes 450-500 a day, and you have to put 200 dollars worth of fuel in it everyday, that pretty much elimnates the profit margin, and leaves you driving around wasting miles for no reason.

Unleaded is $1.90

luvmyex
02-12-2003, 04:14 PM
way too freeking much!!!not as bad as some places but going up from $1.59 to $1.79 in two weeks is BS.The US needs to stop sending every thing from Alaska to mexico and use it here. But NO we have to babysit every other nation.

Gas is suppoed to go up quite a bit before summer! It really sucks, I guess we should all help out, and mod our quads accordingly! Start running achol! Just make it in your basements :p They are saying there is only 10-15 years of oil (gas) left, a lot of it is in Canada too. We are learning about this stuff in school. Soon we will have electric quads... I think I will start making my moon shine! :D I can't afford gas as it is now.

user101
02-12-2003, 04:42 PM
i dont think we will ever have electric quads, and i really dont beleive that bs about 10-15 years of oil left. im 100% sure there is some oil on theis huge rock we live on to last atleast untill i die.

this sucks that gas prices are going up because i am buying a truck within the next 2 months and if the prices keep going up i will not be able to get the truck i want which is a v-8 4x4
i will probaly have to get a v-6 or a straight 4.

1.79 for the cheap stuff here. It went from like 1.63..what a bummer. And one company did make an electric quad. I saw it in one of the quad mags. It went like 20mph, and was like a tank. I think it was called the gorilla. To me its more of a golf cart, But it looks like a quad. I would never buy it, i dont think it even had suspension.

MEL
02-13-2003, 07:07 AM
1.75 for 87 oct. if it gets up to or over 2.00/gal. i'll sell my quad. i won't be able to afford to go to the races since there all 2-4hours away. we'll never see gas prices go below 1.50 again. they'll just raise the price to 2.00 then when they drop to 1.75 everyone will think gas is cheap. its BS!

CBW
02-13-2003, 07:13 AM
Well i dont pay much atention to the gas anymore..i have to have it,,so what ya gonna do.............but my diesel was $1.69 for me yesterday,,,,,,,,,,,,and i think the 90 octane was $1.79

I don'd think so. Everyone said the same thing before the gulf war too, and in 98-99 gas was $.89 a gallon. Give it time.

Well it was just in 2000/2001 when gas prices here in MI were 1.90 for 87. The prices will come down again, like they always do.

In school they also tried to tell me we only had like 30 something years of gas left. However the truth is we have over 200 years of gas atleast left in the earth. There is more gas in the earth then has been taking out. Everyday more and more oil gets discovered in the earth.

Its so fuggin stupid how we ship all our own gas out! And even stupider that the greenies won't let us touch half the oil feilds we got.

Yea gas looks expensive right now compared to what it used to be. But compared to other things its dirt cheap. Look at milk, its $2.39 or more a gallon. And that comes from a freakin cow for cryin out loud. Do we use/need milk, do we depend on it? No we can drink water. Where is there a demand for milk that they can charge 239 a gallon?

310Rduner
02-13-2003, 08:04 PM
