Hi guys,

I'm wondering if you can shed some light on the rear hubs situation between the different years.

2005 hubs are 26 ish a piece and 2006 hubs are 80+ a piece. Is there any difference in width?

Also, has anybody ever compared 400ex hubs to 450R rear hubs?

Will the 400ex hubs add width to the 450R?

For those that have an 06 - when you add 05 front end of hubs/spindles etc, does it change the ratio of front to rear width?

the hubs on the ex are the exact same as the ones on the 04/05 450r. have on of each and i have switch hubs over multiple times when one gets stripped or something.
i go through those things way too much :/
not sure bout the 06+ hubs

Do you know if the front hubs are interchangeable as well?

As for the front hubs, the 04-05 are not interchangable with the 06 and newer without changing the spindle too.

All 450R rear hubs are the same. You will see a large increase in price on the 06 and newer parts over the early 450R's mainly because of point of origin. 06 and newer quads are made in Japan, 04-05 made in US. I know it shouldn't make a difference in the price of parts, especially shared parts between the models, but it does. When I originally did my 450R rear brake conversion, I paid $35 for the caliper assembly. When the 06 model came out the price of the caliper tripled.

That makes sense, it's cause the Yen is in the tank.

Do you know about the 400ex hubs on 05 spindles?

idk about that. i've never had a problem with my front hubs on either bikes. i can go out and look at both bikes to see, but i don't think they'll swap over.
give me 15 mins.

alright. both hubs look very similar, if not the same. the spindles are different i know that. and they bolt pattern for both hubs is the same.
from looking at front hubs on ebay, they are the exact same for all year 400ex as the 06-09 450r. and since the 06+ hub is different then the 05, my front hubs will not switch over between bikes.

No, I've never seen the two side by side. If any were the same as the 400 I'd say it would be the 04-05. The 06 and newer hub design is really different.
