I ran Fk's on my tie rods on the pro trax, they last significantly longer, and they're cheaper.

Also check rodendsupply.com
My family and friends have been using them for years on everything from Micro Sprints to Super Modifieds to Class 1 buggies. They've got just about every kind of heim, monoball, clevis, or bracket ever made.

I am pretty sure that rod ends place would have all the parts you'd need to rebuild a Pro Trax... I might call them and send them one of my spindles...

Gibson wanted 60$ for each replacement heim joint and Spehrical bearing, i bought them for 10$ each on ebay. Gibson uses fk parts and thats what i bought on ebay. ( fyi: 400ex gibson a-arms use jmx8 and com12t components, the com12t comes with a retaining clip if you get them off the only guy selling them on ebay) i saved myself a ton of cash.

The tie rod ends are 7/16". No luck on the spherical bearings from f/k. Those are a ba$tard size from laeger. I had thought about having mine spindles machined out to put a slightly larger bearing in the top and bottom, so that I could run a higher quality bearing from FK. I actually bought the bearings, but plans changed.

You mind posting what you find out on the protrax rebuild?
Thanks,

I just checked out the HB High Misalignment Bushings on the FK site:
http://www.fkrodends.com/HB41.html
These look like they would replace the bushings in the Upper & Lower Mono-Balls on the LAEGER Pro-Trax.
I'll measure mine and see if this is true!!!!

I had my uncle machine a threaded sleeve for the internal portion of the protrax hub. Now I can use heim joints and just thread them into the sleeves.

I don't have any pics of what we did. I'll see if I can find the part numbers of what I bought, and the material we used for the sleeves.
