i cannot get my shifter on i have tried every way in the world, the shaft it a little rough were the shifter goes on how can i fix this? or will i have to buy a new one?
The splines on the shifter can be damaged very easily. It would be best to buy a new shifter.

Mine would never go on easily. Take a flat head screw driver and pry the shifter open a little, it will slide right on, then remove the screwdriver. Mine was the same way, the end of the splines on the shift shaft get roughed up.
