sputtering on reserve

so fired up my quad today to go get my mail,and had to switch to reserve since i was low. and im guessing my tank has some crap in it since i was sputtering on reserve. what the best way to clean out the tank? take the tank off swish around a half a gallon of gas in there, dump the gas in my fire pit then blow out the tank with a compressor? then back to the fire pit for beers?:D

I dont think its the reserve i think its the reverse because my new 08 even sputters in reverse at a very low rpm.

thats what i would do, just swish some around in there and dump it out the top.

also you could blow some compressed air back through the petcock, JUST NOT ALOT OF PRESSURE!!!!
