nice video, that crash looks smooth as butter, quad landed on all 4's and the dude was on his knees looking at it haha.

what kind of helmet cam do you have? I've been looking but i'm undecided on what one to get, i love the go pro's.

better than my last sundays ride. i got back to my truck to find a DEM officer leaning on my hood. gave me a ticket for riding on state land, and made me have my truck and quad trailor towed to my house because of my inspection sticker! totaling 600 bucks! and all i wanted to do was go ride for a couple hours and forget about real life!

Man, that sucks. I've had that happen but luckily my ticket was only 130 bucks. Leave it to the man to rain on your day hu?

definitely jealous. Not only is it too cold to ride here, I don't have anything like that kind of trail system or open land available to ride on. Must be nice to be warm in December.

James.

I wish it was warmer year round here, snow used to be fun but Im sick of it.

Nice reminder how quick you can wipe out!

Especially on stock shocks.

That same type of rear end bucking is why I don't like the stock 400EX rear.

what kind of quad is the guy with the cam running?

Awesome video, bend his bars on the roll?

The blue quad that wrecked was my brother in law on his yfz450 and the camera guy was a friend of mine on a Polaris Outlaw 525. The yfz bent his steering stem on the roll but thats it. Gives him a reason to put flex bars on it on the rebuild for HS's.

that place looks like tons of fun, sand around here is just dunes and dunes and dunes. I hate it so bad. Its really only fun for dragging.

Yea, this is one of the better sections out here. This place is mostly mud holes but we find places to have fun on the way. My favorite place to ride here in FL is Croom ATV park in Brookesville. All it is is nice trails carved up for ripping!

looks fun i wish i could ride other places than a field more than once every 2 months haha. I also love GoPro videos makes me fell like im ridding more than if someone was just standing on the side videotaping it. I would get one if they were not so expensive.

Awesome video. I went out for my sunday ride today and its five degrees with a -10 degree wind chill and the ol' 400 wasn't liking that a bit. Darn jets and weather. I was able to make it about 4 blocks on full choke and not bein able to rev it very high so I called it quits LOL!

yeah i was riding yesterday and today here in the midwest and it was like 10 degrees with wind.

takes them a good 10 - 15 min. to warm up. mine doesn't get fully warm until at least 15 min.

Okay so I found out that I must have a problem with my 400. I got it to start today and yes it was really chilly out. She ran on half choke all day and popped if you gave it to many RPMs.

I'd switch it off choke completely and it would just die right away. Recently I oiled the filter up because I had cleaned it. Maybe I put too much oil on the filter and its not getting enough air...

So tonight I took the filter off and tried to start it without the filter on and the black deal that connects your filter to the carb came off the carb.

What's up with my quad?!

Hope it wasn't dusty today...

For future reference, any time you have to run your 400EX with the choke on after warming up.... you should NOT ride it.

This always means you have either a jetting issue (starving for fuel) or an intake leak letting enough unfiltered air freely in that it mimicks the same jetting issue of starving for fuel.

Get a clamp and clamp the black boot back on the carb.
Problem solved...

(provided it didn't suck dirt and damage the top end)

If you see signs of dust/dirt in your carb, you should at the very least go ahead and change your oil and filter, and wish for the best.
