Hi Guys

Are the pistons form a crf the same as the ones from the trx?

I think only certain years will interchange, and they for sure won't work in 04-05 trx's

well the bore size of a 04-05 bike wouldnt allow the use of a CRF piston either 94mm is 04-05 TRX, 96 is CRF and 06+ TRX

The 06+ TRX uses the same bore as the CRF's. The factory piston in each are different though. The CRF uses a 2-ring set-up and the TRX uses a 3-ring. The skirts then are also shorter on the CRF.

Is the compression any different? What about weight?

i believe the piston is the same on crf and 06 and up bikes is the same the only difference is the head gasket is 2 layer on a crf bumping the comp up a half a point.. the 04/05 are quite a bit different the biggest being the wrist pin size is 21mm on the early trx vs, 19 on the later crf/trx
