"Faster" is almost like "better", it really depends on what you're doing, and obviously what type of modifications you have. But when talking modifications, the sky is the limit, so let's talk basically stock.

In basically stock form, the 250r handles much better than a banshee. It corners better, it jumps better, it handles difficult terrain better. On a track, it's generally faster because it handles better.

But in a drag race, just flat out, the banshee will win. It has more horsepower.

look at races on youtube.com there are plenty of drag races between the two machines and they are always very close.

simple answer is no. the banshee is a beast when It comes to "potential" hp. there is no limit and its hard to compete with only 1 cylinder.

I own both and I will say that the 250r handles 100x better.

I have to agree. I love my 250R's, but even with stock cylinders and crank, there's enormous potential in a Banshee motor. Add a few aftermarket goodies and porting, and you can get into the 60-80 HP range. Figure in big bore cylinders or a stroker crank (or both) and 100 HP is easily attainable. And it can still be fairly reliable. I doubt if you'll ever see a reliable 80 HP 450 of any kind, anything over 60 usually turns into a timebomb.
