i think having air bags would be the best, so you can be lifted all the time, and when its time to unload your quad you can lower it:cool:

Lifted trucks with 41" supper swampers in the city are pointless if you ask me. They are made to go offroading, no to be driven on pavment all the time.

Slammed trucks are more for handling, street performance, and show.

It's a matter of personal preference, and what you plan to do with them. Either way, it's all good.

I think 4x4s should go up and 2X4s should go down.

why in **** would you need big ***** tires in the city? with a truck lifted to the sky? it IS pointless. i aggree. lowered trucks are the way to go in the city cause they handle alot better. try taking a sharp turn on the highway with a raised truck in an emergency without flippin it. i intend to raise my truck yes but i am going to use it year round and they harldey ever plow my road and i have demands that it must be used offroad alot. in the woods hauling forestry gear (saws, oil etc) and i have to have clearance. but if i go somewhere long distance besiodes a show or to go on a run with my quad i'll take my moms civic cause my gas chugging 502V8 has *****ty gas mileage and i cant afford to run it on the highway. its stupid to raise a truck and drive it around on 44's if you never even get it dirty.

I I dont have an opinion for either side. I have had a lifted truck, and Ive had a lowered truck! I do agree I dont really like the "slammed" truck, but do believe that a 2 wheel drive truck lowered a bit with some big wheels look nice! Im not into the smaller trucks(like the one in the pic above,,LOL) but I do like the full sized trucks lowered a tad with big wheels!!!!
Here is one of my trucks

Here is my newest truck. I dont plan to "slam" or lower it, but I will level the back end with the front, put some ground effects on it, and probably put on some 24's.

I have a lot of experience in this... I love my lifted truck way more than any of my previous ride's that were slammed. I got to the point where I was always worried about soemthing going wrong when driving my last ride. Even thou it was features in a few Magazines it wasn't a fun ride like my Avi is...

Here's a pic of my last ride..

personly i like the middle of the road i don't like slammed trucks because there useless in the winter and i don't like super lifted truck because i wouldn't ever have to abilty to use all the suspention travel and or ground clearance i get freeked out moving the lawn on an angle so ... i don't thikn i would be able to drive off road that much

well anyway the highest i think i would lift anytruck i owned would be 6 inches total lift

Your nuts! i see lowered POS going down the road just bouncing at ever crack on the road. You cant even get into a driveway without tearing the bottom end off.It almost as bad as the hommies that put huge rims and low profile tires on a 4x4 suv. What the hel* are they thinking.Yes wheels make a vechicle look good or bad.but some of em are just stupid looking.Get off the crack essay!

sure i like lifted trucks but around here thats all u see... everywhere u look theres a lifted truck and im just tryin to look different....and plus most of the "slammed" trucks u see are 2 wheel drive, and or small trucks like s-10's and rangers and theres not to much point to liftin them......i prefer lowered b/c theres not really that much point to a lifted truck around here even tho everybody has one.... JMO :huh

I'm not a lowered fan.

If you want to get anyplace around SE Ohio to go hunting, you'll most likely have to go off-road. You can't get to alot of places in a car either.

I agree, lifted trucks that don't have any functionality, or are basically driven on the road all the time are kinda lame.

But, we don't have any right to tell them what to do. It's their money, time, etc.

Most of the time I don't say anything. If it looks cool, I'll say it look's cool.

I don't try to force my opinions on them. It's their car after-all, and I accept that.

It's a whole lot more fun that way-

i like both lifted and lowered... the way i see it is if it is 2 wheel drive lower it but if it is 4 wheel drive then raise it:)

I'm all for raisin' them. be it 2 or 4 wheel drive. heII, i've seen some pretty sweet 2x4 trucks that have been lifted.

I drive a 97 ford ranger with 4'' of lift...and honestly i with i would have went BIGGER.

the part i find funny, is that most of the people on this forum that are bragging that lifted trucks are so much better are the ones with no trucks. i personally have NO use for a 4x4 or a lifted truck, all it would be is more things to break, and more gas sucked down. i rather my vehicles to handle good and look good slammed that is ;)

I dont understand why a few people want to come on here and act like grade school children "my daddies truck is better than yours" Fact is some guys like lifted trucks and some guys like lowered truck, and some guys like me, like them both. They both serve a perpose. If you have a nice lifted truck then just show us a pic we would like to see it, same goes if you have a lowered truck. If you are biased for one particular and want to cut down guys with the other, then we dont really give a $hit about you. Lets grow up fellas...

As you can see I have had both extreme lowered rides and lifted rides. There is no way a lowered car is more reliable, shyt if you let your tire air down a lil there goes a blowout. If you have a leak in your air bag suspension than your dropping every bit and tightening your hoses about once a month. You have to worry about hitting pot holes or hitting a rim on a curb. With a lifted truck if you understand it's capabilities and don't exceed them you will have no problem. Of coarse if you go thrashing your daily driver off-road you will break something eventually. When I off-road my Avi I take it below it's true limits but this keeps the truck safe and gets me and my trailer home. Now the down side of a lifted truck is the gas but hey if you can afford it than whats the problem. Here in So. Cali our 91 just went up to 1.89 - 1.99 a gallon which can hurt the bank sometimes.

I agree 100%. I always thought my truck looked ok. But in Oct of 02 I put a 3in suspension lift on my and it turned a lot of heads. I love it. My room mate has a lowed truck and it just dosnt look right. Its a 99 chevy and it looks like a retarded s-10.

My first 4x4 was a suburu brat dont laugh that little truck would shock people. And if i did get stuck it was easy to get out most of the time.I slide off into a ditch one night 4wheeling and 7-8 guys came up and picked the whole thing up and out of the ditch lol, caved the whole right side in too.I bought it new and 3 yrs later i could only get $800 for it.I trashed it pretty bad. Then i had a 76 cj5 with a 350 built in it.Badarse jeep! it would wheelie easy. But it was a money pit. and hard to keep running. Then i bought a new yota in 1990.I luved that truck.did great 4wheeling and was good on gas 4cyc. But 12 yrs later the engine blew. Now i have a dokota v8 4x4 .Its not lifted, but id like maybe a 2-3" susp lift.Havent done much 4wheeling in it just cause i dont want to trash it.But i still hit the trails once in awhile to get back into places.I would feel lost without 4x4 nowadays even though i dont use it like i used to.I probably will have some type 4x4 till i cant drive nomore.
