Looking at getting a klx110L, just to ride around the yard and maybe hit the track every once in a while. I have always wanted a pit bike but never wanted to put all that money in it to make it for an adult. I sat on one the other day and it felt great. I am 5' 11'' and 190 pounds. Has anyone else rode one yet, if so what did you think of it. I think it would make a perfect pitbike, without breaking your wallet.

Buy a used one for like 800 bucks then spend the rest on bars, cradlemount, pegs, tall seat, stiffer springs, a clutch and a 143big bore and youll have a better, faster bike, plus wayyy more parts for the normal 110s

if he bought one for that price... hed have more into it than just getting the 110 l and hed have a fresh bike

only real difference is the body work

110l comes with beefed up kx 60 style forks and longer rear shock 275mm i beleive, and it coimes with the manual clutch

What he said.

get a klx110 for $800
143 bbk for $250
fork springs and shock $150-250
exhaust $200
tires $75
misc $150

so you could have a sweet little klx110 for about $1500-1700 depending on how crazy you want to go with it, a new bike is gonna cost you an arm and a leg,

Guess it depends on where you live, around me you can find ones in real good shape for 800, and even if it did need more work after the mods i mentioned he'd still have a little less than $1,000 to spend and still be the same price as an L, haha

you want a 05 and newer if you get the older 110, the 02-04 is a bit different and had weaker shafts and what not

hey im not trying to argue or start anything with you so hopefully you don't take it that way...

2002's have weaker trannys, if you plan on leaving the motor bone stock there ok but if not id stay away from them

in 03 they fixed all of the problems as far as the internals of the tranny goes and there solid bikes.

the only difference between between 03 and 07 is in 05 they made the shift shaft a larger diameter

then in 2008 they changed the output shaft to one much better that can handle anything you throw at it.

i've had/have an 03 and 2 05's with no problems at all

there deff awesome fun bikes, you won't regret getting one!

yeah the one my buddy picked up is an 02, they have different cranks (weaker). thats the issue with this one.

another friend had an 02 back in the day and we updated his crank/outputshaft and all that good stuff to the 03-09 internals.

its all interchangeable

yes i gotta agree, and thanks for clarifying that i was unsure of the exact differences, but i knew they improved them after 05 as far as shafts

this is my cousins 110 we built over the summer, 143 kit and what not... we got the forks from t bolt, there marzocci copies, we dumped the cooking oil out that came in them and they work awesome, sending them out to feel for some valving, from what i read on planet minis they should perform as well or better than the zokes, $450 for the front end with the wheel and tire, $250 for feel suspension to rework them
