400ex oil level

new to the 400ex's just rebuilt the bike. put in about 2 quarts of oil in the oil tank.and its reading empty? i dont want to start it if there not enough in there

if you put 2 quarts in it and nothing leaked out. you're safe to start it. that's all you're supposed to put in anyway.

You gotta let it warm up a few minutes to get an accurate reading, did you even crank it at all? I always have to whenever I change mine cuz 2 quarts wont dump in there without at least cranking it a little while.

i put about 1 and half quarts in cranked it for a while because my batterys dead.and then its started up for about 50 seconds shut it off and added the rest but stil reading empy.some of the oil spilled out while puttin it in that could be the reson

yhou should still have more on the dipstick unless you dumped a court out haha.

start the quad, let it idle for 3 or 4 min. without hitting the throttle. then check your oil level.

i dont think it was a quart lol. but i will try that tomrow and see how that is.

must idle and warm up before it will read right.
