View Full Version : quiet pipe for the 250EX

I was tooling around on my 250 and thought the power sucks so I figured I'd get an exhaust, rejet it, and add a foam filter element...

I want the quietest pipe that adds power (if that's possible). Any suggestions?

I heard somewhere that the supertrapp is quiet.

I know some are tunable with disks... With the number of disks put in to be the quietest, will there really be any power or is it a waste of money?

Thanks

i would look at the white bros e series, if they make them for the 250, i think they do, but they have discs that you can tune it with and quiet cores are available, and they give great power!

Yes, they do make an e-series for the 250ex and they sound awsome and if you think that it is to loud just take some disks out. The power you get from them is awsome.:D Here is a pic of mine on my 300ex.:devil

you could get a t4 and get a quiet core insert.or whatever it is.

so how much louder will the t4 or white bros e series be with the quiet core over stock? Quite a bit or just a little?

thanks for the input, guys...

The T-4 is WAY louder then WB.....

WB comes with tunable disks, but Pro Circuit's T-4 requires a quiet core insert which will cost you to loose some power

Decided on the eseries.

I got it, jet kit, and a foam filter (not uni, the other performance one).

Should be here next week and I'll see...

I also ordered the quiet core insert. I'll try it without it first, and if I can't stand the noise, I'll pop it in and re-tune it and see what the diff is.

Thaks for the input folks.

The E-Series has tunable discs so you didnt really hafta order a quiet core insert.

Ok, so I'll take it out. It sounded really funny with it in. Maybe I put it in wrong. Isn't it supposed to be the first disk -- basically reducing the size of the muffler hole and then the disks, cap and endpiece all go together?

If this is no the correct way, please tell me...

It seemed fair at 12 disks. I'll try 10 and see if I notice any difference...

thanks

You should notice a difference when you go from 12 to 10. Also in the sound, it should be a pinch louder.

I have a E-series on my 250ex, and it is pretty loud, but not really loud. I am going to get a T-4 instead, and just sell my E-series. But my neighbors B!+Ch and Moan about the E-series, cant wait to hear them after i get the T-4, lol.

A T-4 is WAY LOUDER then WB!!

Everyone around here has 250s and we have our different pipes, and ive raced both that have a t-4 and an e series.

When I raced the T-4, i couldnt even hear myself shift the pipe was so loud. But when it came time to race the WB, it is loud, but not so loud that you cant hear yourself shift.

Just my 2 cents:rolleyes:

I took it down to 10 disks... It is only loud when I get on it hard. Tooling around it's quiet.

I bought a dynojet jet kit and just the needle on clip 3 made a big difference. I changed the main from 95 to 96 and I get a lot less pop on deceleration, but I still get some.

Should I jump to a 97 or 98 main?

I order a T4 an dit's comming on Firday hopefully, There Lous but ther peformance is great on those pipes low to mid is what I want and I'll get.

It's for a 300ex running with a uni filter. I got the main jet install so I'll have a starting point. I went from a 122 to a 125, is this a good starting point for a 300 or should I jump up a couple mnore to get started.

Whoooohoooo
