The 330, you wont have to rev it as much as you would the 265 for it to produce power.

Ridability,
The 330 will be easier because of more torque & lower rpms, +, the PV will make it a bit easier as well.

Neil, I also have some questions about the 330. Is a 38 mm carb big enough? And will I be able to ride it with an 88-89 length swingarm? I can't seem to decide between a 310 or a 330 for general woods riding and drag racing my friends. Nothing too serious, just a play bike. I also want to make sure I beat down those 4 strokes... lol

Yes, a 38mm carb would perform right well on a 330, just for general riding & playing around & some racing.
Now when you get serious about drag racing & that is all you want to do, then that 38 will come up short.

You do know if you go the 330 cylinder route, your cases will need opening up so the 330 sleeve skirts will have somewhere to go.
The 330 cylinder kit will cost more than a 310, + you got to add in the case mod for the 330, so the 330 will cost a bit more than a 310 by the time its finished.

310 will just bolt right on your bottom end, but because of the smaller piston, will not have as much torque as a 330, be close, but just not quite as much.

The bigger the bore you go, it will always have more output than one of a smaller bore, unless someone REALY screws up on the cylinder porting & pipe.
But, no 2 stroke engine, makes no difference who it was built it, will run no better or last no longer than how much that person knows that is tuning on that engines carb.
Carb tuning can make an engine last or kill it in a few seconds.

I'm running an ESR 330 PV cylinder right now. Makes incredible power but I don't think I would spend the extra cash on the PV again.

OK, I've just got one of those to do some testing on, see what I can come up with for a fix maybe.

A PV cylinder suppose to be best of both worlds, bottom end & top end output engine all in one package, but sometimes things get out of wack & they dont work like they are suppose to.
