FYI - $130 right now but normally $150.

Janssen Motorsports is now making these for the Honda 450r and the Suzuki LTR.

You can search for it on ebaymotors.com as "Honda 450r plastic skid plate"

Quote from ebay listing:

"Since the discontinuation of the Tag Railer skidplates, we found it necessary to create our own to replace on our racebikes. The demand for our skid plates became very large, so we've created our own product line of poly skid plates for the Honda TRX450r and LTR450R"

I run the Maier one that looks the same as the Moto-Xperts one. I didn't even know they were making one. The Maier one seems to be straight plastic and wears quickly IMO. I will definitely try the Moto-Xperts one out. I made a template and was planning to order some UHMW plastic to make my own.

The only other plastic skid I am aware of is made by Hyde Racing. It is a 2 piece design. It is easy to remove the back section when doing oil and tranny changes. It is expensive though at around $200 (and doesn't fit the Lonestar frame).

i never had a problem with the maier one wearing out quickily, i was using the same one for 3-4 seasons and it was just starting to wear out at the end but still very usable. i got a MXP one also, it looks nice

I just go the mxp poly skid and I like it, I wish it had a hole to drain the oil but it's not too hard to take it off.

I've bought a bunch of them from Mark Walker who runs the GNCCs. He makes them among other things. I buy them at 60 a skid shipped or 50 and pick them up at a race. If anyone is interested, PM me and I will give you his contact info.

I was planning to make mine from IPX 2000 UHMW material. It is supposed to resist wear much better than UHMW. I think it is only sold by Interstate Plastics.
