Im redoing a 87 250r frame with a 88-89 swing arm the swingarm is a lonestar. What size shock should I use in the rear?

I think it is 18 1/4 -- 18 3/4, do a search on
rear shocks and you should find some info,
I found the info here somewhere.

it shouldn't matter. 85-89 all used very similar length shocks. 85 was one year only for most of the parts. 86 got stuff changed, 87 dog bone got shorter and so did shock, 88/89 uses a shorter yet shock. If you use 86 shock, use a 85/86 dogbone, all others use a 87+ dogbone. Did you weld the rear motor mount to the frame? You need that motor mount, on 85-87 it was in the middle of the swingarm.

If you were closer I'd trade you a 88 frame for your 87 frame
