crf ignition

how hard is it to put a crf ignion in an 05 motor? any case modifications? or just parts?

the flywheel and side case have to be machined then you need the adaptor plate for the stator to bolt to the case

Trail Tech makes an entire conversion kit....


Also I have a question, if you use a CRF carb and CRF ignition, can you use the TPS?

yes the tps plugs right in and works no problem.

The trail tech flywheels have a problem with the magnet cover cracking I do not think they offer the kit anymore. The best is use someone that machines the OEM parts. Sparks,DASA,and ME are the ones I know of.

ive seen the trailtech kits before and they are junk, everything uses butt connectors and its really cheesy, they dont offer them anymore anyway. i just put one in my bike and im killing myself that i didnt do it years ago, the pull is crazy, like going from a stock bike to a built motor all over again

you dont put one on a 06+ bike, the flywheel and ignition setup is already like the CRF

there not even close!! the crf is tiny and i only have 3 wires!
BCS did mine .
it revs crazy and no wires!

dont no y u cant do it on 06 up really. but BCS said u cant when ive asked.

u can swap some crf stuff tho. clutch . ditch all the judder ****!
head gasket. 2 layer instead of three. carbs on 04 05 trx swap out for crf ..

The fan will not run off of the starter. The reason it will not work in the 06 and up is the taper on the crank is different and there is not enough metal in the flywheel to make the difference

I know Trail tech offered two options, one with no lighting ability and one with. The fan could run off the one with lighting ability.

Trail Tech still makes stators for the CRF with lighting coils. I would think you would just one of those stators and figure out how to wire it and you could still run the fan and maybe lights.
