I've had my Precision for awhile now and I was wondering how often they need to be rebuilt. I can tell it's had better days now. It's just not doing it's job like it used to.

depending on use, i would rebuild once a season.

Rebuilding
Our Stabilizer will absorb impacts that will explode the competition's stabilizer.
The stabilizer is easily rebuilt, though your average rider and most racers will never need to. With only one internal moving part made of solid heat treated stainless steel and the housing and all other machined parts made of billet hard anodized aluminum or stainless steel, this unit is built to take a beating.

Lmao.

I think mine needs it because when I first got it and put it on the hardest setting I couldn't turn the handle bars. Now I can do it pretty easily.

okay lets get this straight... If a steering dampener like the precision is used hard for an entire season, and for most that can be upwards of 100hrs of riding, the dampener will need to be rebuilt. Nothing is indestructable and I know that the precision needs rebuilt once a season from experience... Unless you!!!--> phreak have owned a Precision and never had it rebuilt and it still feels good after 100hrs of riding, then you obviously never ride hard enough to need it...

maybe you should tell ken of kb motorsports he doesn't ride hard enough. i believe he races xc

not saying they're indestructible but rebuilding every season is overkill and, from what i've read, not necessary.

madskrillz2... i remember seeing somone selling a precision that they believed something internally broke and precision quoted them a price of $85 to rebuild it. maybe contact them and see what they say.

ha ha agreed. Guys i am not saying that rebuilding once a season is for everyone. If you are like me and put hundreds of hours on your quad every season and abuse the crap out of a stabilizer, a rebuild once a season is not a bad idea. For the rest of you maybe once every 4 years is fine. To each his own. End of story.

yeah... you're the destroyer of quads. surprised big money contracts aren't being thrown your way.

its funny you say you have your "precision" rebuilt so often when you don't even have one on your quad.

First off, i am not even riding in that video. You can see my quad 1:41... i am not even riding. Also....lets look at the upload date... that would be nearly two years ago. It took me a few weeks to get that video up anyway. Lets see that would have made me right around 17 when the video was made. Also... I never claimed to own a precision did i??? But i can claim to have raced on bikes and built 450's with my friends that DO have precisions. I raced an entire season of harescramble on a '04 450r with a precision and i am telling you, if you race everyother weekend and practice nearly every day like a pro would it will beat the thing to hell. And BTW... as far as big money contracts??? I actually do have some... Not just the low level sponsorships either... Ever heard of... O'Neal? DWT? Pro Armor? Pivot Works? Hotcams? Kal-Gard? Race Tech? Skorbordz? Its actually really nice to call up these places and just say i need something and get it for more than half the price you can get it from any online website.

How much experience do you have with the Precision? Have you raced? lets see a video of you racing? Any " big money contracts" with big names?

So can we expect to see you in the pro class this year? I hope so. It's really in need of some fresh talent.

I'll be riding B-Class because of a string of health problems that i have been faced with. Its tuff to keep up the energy to ride A-Class on 400ex and do good when you don't have any energy. But be watching for me in 2012, i'll be around. Breezewood anyone?

ha ha this is all you can muster? Can't even answer my string of questions for you? You my friend are one heck of a troll... BTW i called precision today and talled to a tech guy. He told me that if ridden hard for an extensive amount of hours in MX or GNCC it will need atleast serviced, rebuilt, or atleast taken apart and inspected for any damage once a season. I am done arguing with un-intelligent people who are trolls. Do your re-search and have respect for people who have more experience in the field than you. Adios

Adios i do respect people who have experience/knowledge in racing mx and xc.

you're not one of them. a simple search of your posts proves that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. all you do is spew utter and complete bull****.

its sad to think some people out there read the crap you type and and don't second guess it. luckily its mostly in the 400ex subforum where its read by kids under that ago of 13.

I went 3 years of A/B class XC riding, and my precision felt just as good as the day I bought. I had it rebuilt, just for peace of mind, and it felt no different. OP, I had it rebuilt by David Crane at DC cycle in Red Bay, AL. You'll be happy with his service.

I hope you found enough opinions in this mess of a thread.
