what boots do you guys prefer to ride in?
I have a pair of O'Neals that i have had for about 6 years, used them for dirtbiking but they just suck for my wheeler. Just to stiff for getting my foot under the shifter. What do you recommend?

Not specifically designed for it, but I ride in a pair of 5 year old Wolverine steel toe Wellington boots. They have no laces to get caught up, are 11" leather uppers for heat protection, have steel toes, lugged boot type soles for when I have to get off an push ('04 so no reverse) and are water resistant enough for where I ride. Only suck in the cold, as they are uninsulated.

James.

When you ride a quad you sit deferent then on a bike. It’s a talent you have to learn that’s deferent then what your use to. Try putting your foot just a little farther back on the peg then you normally do.

You can also lower your net on the left side so it doesn’t catch on your boot.

Get them wet and wear them around a bit. That works as good as anything.

Just put them on and spray them down like you were washing off the mud from a good ride. You can wash out the inside of the boots from time to time to clean them but the outside can be washed every time you ride. You may have to spray them more then once to get the leather to soften up. Do some squats with the boots on, when there new you’ll roll up on your tows because the boots are so stiff. Once there broke in they will flex a lot more. Again body possession on a quad is way deferent then on a bike so you have to get use to it.

mine are 9. Im almost embarrassed to admit i never thought to loosen my netting on my nerfs. I have only been riding quads since August of this year, everything before that has been dirtbikes, which they were fine for, maybe im just not used to putting my knees so far forward to get the right angle...all i know is it is a little more awkward than im used to.

try moving your shifter up a notch or two... i know thats what i had to do. I got some O'Neal Piston boots after my Elements bit the dust, and they are even bigger than the elements. STill no problems.

After installing my nerf bars, i could not get my foot under the shifter in shoes. Take off the nut, and move the shifter up 1 spline.

Yes moving the shifter up a notch works until you land a big jump and have your foot on the shifter at the same time. Can you say bent shifter fork.
The ex shifter leaver is a shorty compared to others. You can cut it and make it longer if you have a welder or take it to one and they can do it for you. you can buy aftermarket ones that are aluminum but they bend pretty quick.

Fox comp 5 ftw. These boots feel great on a quad, plus they felt like they were broke the first time I wore them, definitely look into them. Not too expensive either.

THOR QUADRANTS MX.i love them,i bought them from a buddy of mine for $50,theyre like $130 new if im correct?when i bought them my friend walked around in the driveway with them, realized they were to small and sold em to me.i love them, theyre great.i did have to move my shifter up a bit,but my nerf nets are okay.my only complaint is that they scratched the **** outta my rear plastics from the buckle rubbing.theres nothin i can do though.but still theyre nice and comfy and look sweet, and theyre a good price,i highly recomend them.
