Running a 2010 DRR 50cc quad and wanted to know what you guys recommend for the tranny fluid. Personally I am a Royal Purple and Amsoil guy, but seems I am unable to find a precise recommendation on these quads. Help is appreciated.

I like the Motul or Silkolene, but any quality brand of synthetic should work well .

We've used amsoil severe gear 70-90w on our 50 for a couple of seasons now. No tranny issues caused by excessive wear to report.

Save some money and just buy Mobil Synthetic 75w90
Last 2 year-long race seasons and never a gear issue...
My son started around 85lbs and ended this season at 103lbs.
I spend the extra money on good mix oil...Amsoil Dominator all the way!!!

We use Amsoil super shift. Money shouldn't be a factor in your tranny fluid being that you only use about 4oz per fluid change. Just my .02

I looked at the supershift this year. its more of a ATF fluid and much lower viscosity at around 10W. its made for better performance in a slipping clutch situation rather than straight out gear and bearing protection like the sever gear. the DRR tranny as you know has no slipping parts internal, just gears and bearings.

I did buy some supershift this year to try out in our cobra sr 50 practice bike for the clutch. I hear in that application, it works very well.

since this seemed pointed towards me, I want to make clear that my point is all that fancy name stuff is a waste of money! I will pull our gears out today and show any of you what 2 years of the cheap stuff looks like. No wear at all and like I said, this whole season my son was between 90-1oolbs. I dont care what you run or how much you pay for it, if you dont teach your kid to ride right by letting off in the air they will break gears....unless you spend the money on all the slipper clutch stuff.

I actually decided to go with the Royal Purple 75/90. I've always run it in my Harleys, ATVs, etc and since one of you is using that as well I am going to give it a try.
