300ex Rocker Cover

I am thinking about making my own gasket for the rocker cover. Can anyone tell me why honda made this have no gasket? What would it hurt if I made my own? Prolly half to adjust valves again but other then that.

I use honda bond or yamabond. I guess if you could make your own gasket,go ahead,but I think it is a thing where the thickness of material is the issue,and the curves of the surface.More than likely, you can make a gasket,install the gasket,add the new gasket thicknes to your valve adjustment clearance specs.I personally recommend using honda/yamabond,and use it in a thin coating!!!!!Don't use silicone unless you want future engine oil sump screen blocking up with silicone.
