I was actually just looking into LTR's to see if a TRX250R motor would fit.

The only motor I heard of was the ktm 525 but I want 450 good luck I do not think it will fit

Height-wise, 250R should be an easy fit; it's smaller than most four strokes 450cc and over. Only issue may be running the pipe; need sufficient space between the upper and lower a-arm mounts and below the radiator

I would either stick with a suzuki powerplant or go with a efi crf one like WRC is doing

u can buy a crf motor off service honda i think but iw ould prolly be cheaper to buy a used bike ( i found a 2010 efi crf for 5000) take the motor and everything u need and part out the rest.

and if u go with a non efi crf u can get those things reallllly cheap

If interested I have a nice KTM 450SX dirtbike motor as well as a 03 crf450 motor for reasonable prices.

I guy I know put a rmz 450 09 in a ltr, It is a lot of work, and you need to make a lot of changes he said. But it is definately possible.

Let me understand this you have an LTR450(frame/motor) you wont to change motors to something else? is this right?

I would sell ltr motor and buy a diff nmotor to put in

believe it or not the ltr motor makes more power then the rmz if you change to a carb an have the motor built, that ltr motor would rape a rmz motor with the same mods.

the only advantage of the dirtbike motor is loosing the injection system weight the ltr's injection system an frame are the heaviest of most machines so the sickamount of power they are making is only averaging out with the sheer weight of the bike

I'm in the process of gettng a walsh chassis together myself. for the weight an handling..not the power of course it feels powerful but its the eight that makes it that way
