so for xmas, i got a 9 week old lab puppy. tomorrow we are going to the snow. and my question is can i take her with us or should i leave her at home??

She could be exposed to it but be prepared to have a warm blanket and conditions for here. She shouldnt be exposed for long to any cold or wet at that young of an age.
Probably best to leave her home on this trip. Dont worry though, by week 16, she will be able to do everything with you and she should be exposed to everything (water, snow, people, loud noises etc)
Gauge was making retrieves at 16 weeks.

I'd say 9 weeks is a little early unless it's just to go out for a pee and come back in the house. I wouldn't be taking the dog out too much for too long since the coat of fur isn't quite developped yet for the cold weather and you could risk frostbite on the paws.
We started taking Hunter out at around 12 weeks and limited his exposure. But as Pappy said ... by 16 weeks you should have no problems taking the pup outand exposing the dog to the elements ... just use common sense and clean off the dog's paws from any snowballs or ice.

that sucks... but thank you for the advice pappy. i cant wait for her to be 16 weeks.
im glad we didnt take her. it was low 30s and she wouldve been freezing.

Yup. Even if the lake is frozen over, we sill drink beer at the beach! haha
