Well, once I can get through the repercussions of this economy, I'll be looking at a 700xx.

It really depends on what kind of riding you do, or whether you like IRS or not.

the xx is REALLY good for that.. but if i get the xx keep 250$ for tire cause the stock tires suck.. u could make the stock tires into ice tires.. but get if ur not gona be goin to a mx track much get mud lights or klaws and a 12 or 13 t front sproket

you wont notice the weight when it comes to the power. it pulls hard and never seems to run out of breath. the handling will be different than the EX ( i had one too) but you will soon get used to it the XX has incredible traction. as far as power the comparison is like if you had went from a 250ex to a 400ex. :)

lol depends on who you ask, stock for stock the XX MAY be a hair faster on the top end but with that said depends where your riding too. sand, go with Raptor and everything else go with the XX and before all you XX hater/ Raptor lovers chime in that I have it all wrong, IT IS MY OPINION. I myself love the IRS .. Keep in mind as fast as both bikes are you will rarely use all of their available power. the XX has 54 flywheel HP not sure what the Raptor has 48 i think? and they have tons of torque.

I agree with you hotrod, the XX has better topend and the raptor has better low end power...stock for stock or big 3 to big three, it is anybodys game or whoever is the better keyboard racer. Now when you mod further into the motor it is a different story, the raptor will dominate.

Agreed the Raptor head flows better and reacts to Engine mods better, Pipe filter and programmer make a huge difference on both bikes . mine however is still stock and I'm Satisfied...(for now) ;)

i just put a pclll on my 700xx its all stock just has a uni (best) air filter.... it fells like it got about 2hp... mostly on bottom and topend.. u cant even tell if a stock rappy has a powercomander that just says one thing the xx is a dirtyer engine ( tree huggers dont like this).... stock vs stock the xx is about 5mph faster on top and it gets there quiker....

I can tell you from experience, if you want more power without modding your ex, go with the 700xx. My friends that I ride with have them, I took them for a ride a few times, a lot different though and not only power wise. The biggest thing that I felt in difference (other than power) was handling. I personally am not a fan of IRS and found it awkward to ride on trails or even just when trying to break the rear end loose. They also feel top heavy, but not to the point of it being easy to tip over. I cant complain about them though, with my friends 700's they have performed great, other than one of them lost the fuel selector switch and a few bolts vibrated out but thats all. Solid and powerful quads if you want something with IRS.

I've been wondering how these bikes compared to others. I'm familiar with the Raptors (both 660s and 700s). I ride woods constantly, and there are many times I've been like "man, IRS would be real nice through this section!". But I always go back to how I like to ride; slide around corners, drifting in play areas, etc. Would be much different on an IRS. Have you guys compared the XX to the Outlaw 525 IRS? I haven't ridden the IRS, but the motor of the 525 (rode a KTM 525 actually) was quite impressive, lots of torque. I'm going to have to find someone in the trails and ride an IRS...

If you like to slide around corners get a l8ton sway bar, youll have IRS AND be able to slide best of both worlds :)

Very cool! I'm always looking for a good bike to replace my g/f's 250EX and maybe the XX could be it... Just so I can ride it
