So this may be a stupid question.... I'm putting an 01 raptor rear shock on my 96 300ex. My question is does it matter which way I install the shock, resi up or resi down and why?

Are you sure that shock will even fit??

I doubt it's going to work correctly, but to answer your question...No, as long as you don't have clearance issues with the motor, frame, or airbox, then it doesn't matter which way the reservoir is facing.

Yeah, im sure it will fit. Its the same length and I read that riders do the swap all the time. I installed it today with the res on the bottom and it rides sooo mjch better

Scro, why do you not think it will work right?

Its much longer and sits at much greater angle than the 300 shocks... you'll be sitting on top of a mountain if you use it. Some parts just aren't interchangable.
