Hiper question,cracked spline alum.hubs!HELP

Has anyone ever cracked or heard of someone cracking the center splined aluminum hubs on a rear hiper wheel.I sold a set of dual beadlock rears with the splined hub that attach directly to the axle to a guy across the country and he said BOTH aluminum hubs are cracked.Just unsure to trust his story?Thanks...

they were known to come loose and wear out the splines, but never heard of cracking them, not saying you couldnt. have him take pics of the crack!

i cracked 2 of them off while riding, wheels go flying. they are junk switch to douglas

It's probably one of the reasons Hiper stopped making that style wheel with the hub already built into it.

the reason they stopped making them is because of the splines stripping out and warranty replacements were costing too much. I have 2 sets of them for 250r axle, great, but what a huge PITA to change rims. If you make the axle end nut REALLY tight, they stay around awhile.
