I've been playing with windows movie maker (ME not XP) but I'm more looking for something I can edit full screen type movies with then record back to watch on a vcr (or DVD player is that possible?)..

Not so much vid's to email etc..

Here's one I was just playing around with

ummm. im trying to think what its called.

o yes. after a little research.

Adobe premeire works very well. it can get complicated but can do just about everything. I use the program from xp to capture the clips then import them into premiere. the new premier might have that special capture thats seperates the black out scenes but im not sure.

I think Adobe Premier is probably one of the best programs out there, but it's complicated...I haven't figured it out yet. Vegas Video is really good too, and I have seen the results from it and they are great...even better is that it seems a lot easier to use.

Guess I dated myself eh? lol..

I've got Adobe Premier running, completely lost.. lol (plus I don't think I can afford to actually buy a copy)..

Thanks for the suggestions, I guess I'll keep dl'ing and trying different programs until I find one I like (and can afford!).. lol

I know one thing.. I thought my PC was pretty fast until I started playing with vids.. Time for an update I think.. lol..

Vid editing is hard on any computer. Ive got a 1.6 ghz XP, 256 DDR machine and its hard on it. If you do upgrade, look into a stick of 512 DDR Ram, that should help a whole lot. And Ram is realatively cheap at the moment, compared to what its been in the past anyways. :)

Vegas Video 4.0 by Sonic foundry is my choice over Adobe Premiere.

I've got a gig of pc133 running right now, lol..! It's an older PIII 866 chip w/ 133mhz fsb.. I'm having video card issues at the moment (radeon 64ddr)..

Soon it'll be time to build a bigger, better, faster box :D Then I can retire this one to file storage and toss that crappy 333PII that I've been using LOL

Sweet!

I just ordered a G4 power mac with dual 1.25 ghz cpu, 640MB RAM, 80gb boot, and 160gb data drive. Plus, I got a DVD writer drive, and some kinda thingy that converts analog video to digital so I can make DVD's out of my home videos and stuff.

I am just counting the minutes til it gets here!

It is a Formac Studio box. It links to the computer via IEEE firewire and the VCR is supposed to plug directly into the box.

I don't actually have it yet, but it should be here tomorrow or Friday (I HOPE).

Hey,

I've had experience in using Adobe Premier and Pinnacle Studio DV Versions 7 and 8.

I'd say that the Pinnacle software is definitely the best I've seen yet for ease of use, quality, features, etc.

One thing thats cool about Studio DV is that it allows you to edit video on your computer in a low-res mode so it doesn't take up tons of your memory and hard drive space, but when you're ready to finish up your movie, it remembers where it pulled the clips from your tape in your camcorder and makes a high-res version from that. Also, with Studio DV, you can control your camera with your the program which is pretty convienent. The Studio DV software doesn't cost much either, under $100 the last I checked.

Adobe Premier definitely makes my eyes hurt too! :huh

Let me know if you want more details about the Pinnacle program.

they're on the computers at school, there would be no way I could pay for premier, I have premier here at home on the trial verson so if I go to use it I'll work on it for a long time at once, you get 30 days you work on it
