I have a 1986 Suzuki lt 250r and the person I bought it off of tried to pull the cylinder off with out taking the head off to release compression and knocked a chip out of the case where it meets the cylinder. Its there anyway of repairing it like welding it and having it filed down or use double gaskets? Thanks

sounds more like they tryed to pull the cylinder off without removing all the nuts off the studs that hold the cylinder on ,because removing head is not nessary to get the cylinder off. jb weld works wonders, but will require some effort to make it flat with the sealing surface

I dunno if id trust it. It would be a cheap fix but i dont want to ride then have the jb weld fail. but ill give it a shot.

i have had only good results on metals and not so good on hard plastics.just make sure the repair area is perfectly clean ( brake cleaner leaves no residue) and is mixed with equal parts .does the chipped area go all the way into the crank case area

No its just around the top of the case where the cylinder seats

i have used jb weld to reshape the exhaust side transfer ports on my 250r cylinders and never had it come loose .you should be fine
