Looking for some pink nerf bar nets or just anything pink! Any suggestions/places to get some pink stuff would be GREAT! :D (I have a 2006 400ex)

Does anyone know where to get a clear radiator hose? My boyfriend has been searching for one for forever & I know if I got him one for Christmas he'd be shocked. ;) a clear clutch cover too!! (he has a 2005 450r)

Thanks to anyone that replies. I really appreciate it!!

Woco is the company that makes the clear hoses...http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/productDetail.do?navType=type&webTypeId=42&navTitle=Engine&webCatId=17&keyword=CLEAR+RADIATOR+HOSES&prodFamilyId=2805

and trinity makes the billet/lexan clutch cover...http://www.trinityracing.com/prod_hon_trx450_accessories.html

I have never seen pink nerf bar nets though sorry. Best bet would be to run black nets and have the nerfs themselves powdecoated pink. As long as you do all the parts at once powdercoating is pretty cheap. Frame, nerfs, hubs, swingarm, a arms and steering stem should all only cost about $250-$300 total for everything to powdercoat pink. Would probably look pretty sick with some black plastics to.

You could get alot of stuff powdercoated pink if you wanted (hubs frame a-arms ETC.)

Here is a link to trinity racings site, They have a clear quick change cover.

As for the clear rad hoses i know there is some kind of tubing you could use but i cant remember what it is and what size mayb post that in the 450r section, if you haven't already.

Could get some pink plastics but that may be a little overkill.

Oh and I like your idea about getting the nerfs themselves powder coated, I already have black plastics. :D I really wanna make it look clean, I just got it last summer and I love it. I'm finally getting money to work on it so I'm excited.

Yea, ALL pink would be a little too much, gotta stay with the black plastics lol.

This may be a long shot, but if you can't find pink nets, you could always make your own. I'm sure you could find white nets somewhere, then just use a fabric dye from your local fabric shop or even walmart and dye them.

You may also be able to find a pink seat cover if that's your taste, or again have one made if you have an upholstery shop local. Friend had one made for his xs650 for less than $100 with marine grade vynil, 3 colors and pattern stiching. Plain vanilla 400ex seat in color shouldn't be nearly that bad.

your local fabric shop can make nets to your liking.. had some made here for really cheap..

Another longshot that would cost some more money is How about some Beadlocks with pink rings.

Well, I am going to make a different suggestion...

So you have the hubs done and stuff... so instead of stripping the whole thing apart to powder coat the nerfs and frame pink... why not do something a little more simple and keep the pink a girly accent color that pops in smaller quantity instead of having a loud pink frame and such...

I suggest you take a look at this link and click around to have a look at this KFX450R a guy did for his wife...

No problem...

For a few more ideas....

This chick's 300EX is pretty hot too...

http://www.atvriders.com/qotm/quad-of-the-month-2010-08-pink-zebra-honda-trx300ex-atv.html

Yeah I know it is white... but is a zebra white with black stripes... or is a zebra black with white stripes?... LOL...

If you want to just buy something for your 400EX without having to get all custom, here are some graphics you might like shown on your quad.

Link:
http://www.amrracing.com/index.php?l=product_images&p=111&i=2091

I think I would go with these maybe because they are practical and offer so much coverage/protection... yes they are $169 but cover so much more than normal.... and they have bunches of pattern choices...

Just go here and have a look at both the 400EX and 450R since they look so similar... lots of the patterns are offered in pink.

I like it so far...

I think you can already tell with your front bumper why I am not really fond of painting the aluminum... I mean yes, it looks good... until you use it... lol...

I would do some shock covers to cover up the red springs... functional and easy vs taking the springs off and pinking them...

If you like black wheels, later on you could do hipers and pink rings too. If you look around you "might" find some of those used from the breast cancer awareness thing they had at the last GNCC race.

Some may have ran them for that one race and may now have them for sale.

Yeah, black has really grown on me since I got the black KFX450R... more than I ever thought it would... but still I find even powder coat to be just more upkeep to deal with on keeping it looking good.

And a lot of people really like powder coat too, and I do as well... would choose it over paint any day for lots of applications.

But like anything else, there is a great deal of difference in quality and durability... and it is an extra headache and expense if used for a coating... pay to have it done... pay to have it redone.

Myself I have went back to rattle cans, or my friends spray gun.

Anything I want black I use Rustoleum bedlinder rattle cans. Tough finish, easy touch up... Down side is it is textured and hard to clean spotless.

For other stuff I just use good rattle cans or get a small amount mixed for the spray gun.

I for example have had good luck with Rustoleum engine enamel for hot parts and hubs, etc... just have to use good primer on aluminum and good practices.

I've left my contact aluminum raw... brush finish... my wheels are the part that is starting to look bad and the black has unfortunately kind of grown on me. They are powder coated, so I need to strip them back to raw aluminum... or try top coating with bedliner.... but I would really just like a set of hipers... scuff them and they are still the same color... lol...

I agree with some of the other guys on here. Go to your local signature and sign shop and have them custom make you some graphics. Thats what I did for my 99 yamaha gp800 jet ski and its totally one off and looks great. Best part is it cost me less than 100 bucks.

take the money you wore gonna spend on the graphics and throw some into it and get a HMF with a pink canister hahahha now that would look nice...slip ons arent that much either!;) ;)

i was lookin' at the frame on ebay but it's been deleted i think. ill look for it again, if not.. my boyfriend and i are just going to make it into a project bcs' he wants to paint his frame too. :D

& i am wanting a new exhaust. i have a white brothers slip on now, but i want something different & i want the full exhaust.

we're about to put it in the shop in a few weeks to get a new timing chain! it's got a little tick. ): we got the valves adjusted already and they told us it was the timing chain and i finally got some extra cash so i'm excited. :D

one tip i got for an upgrade was to put a 450r timing chain instead.. any advice on that?

426kidz
12-28-2010, 11:39 AM
yeah....there heavy dutie and no different too instal, I believe its the dirtbike chain thats needed though there is threads on this im sure steve will help out...go too the top and search timeing chain somethin will come up;)

this is what steve says,lol...02 crf450 chain will work. take your head cover off, and right side cover(one with the clutch in it) you will have to unbolt clutch and basket, along with a couple of other bolts that hold the gear on behind that. the cam can get lifted up to take the tension off of it and you should be able to drop the chain out. when installing make sure you take the tensioner out or at least get the little tool that goes in it to lock it closed so there wont be any tension on it when buttoning everything up. once it is all back in enough to have tension on the chain when it is back on the sprockets with the head cover back on you can release the tensioner to put the correct tension on it. if you dont have the correct locking tool you can use a small flat head to move it in. i would recommend taking it out though since you can look at it, work it and inspect it while it is out. make sure you have new gaskets cause the side cover one(if never off before)will be torn and need replacing. torque it all down and you will be all set! steve
