450r driving me insane! need help please!!!

i habe a 2006 trx450er,i bought it from a good friend,he said it needed a piston and rings because of blow-bye threw the valve cover into the air box,i took apart the motor,valves look good,took of the cylender,bore looks great ans so does the piston and rings,before i took it apart,i drained the oil,put fresh oil in there,fresh gas,and she wont fire over?? so as of right now im stumped? can anyone tell me what they think is the problem,could it be the gaskets? someone tell me whats going on!

well first off get or download a service manual.. next ill tell you you should have done a leak down test before you tore it down.. all you can do now is check ring end gap clearance and spark and easy stuff also check your decomp clearance as well as valve shim clearance.. good luck and take your time and get a service manual..!

Have you checked it for spark? Those stators are junk in those. I had mine go out within a year and the quad was even a year old!

i havent checked for spark,but im gonna put fresh rings,gaskets,oil filter,oil,trans fuild,adjust my valves if needed.check my shims,check for spark,im going to my local honda dealer today to get a manuel.hopefully shes runing by the new years!

also will the maunel tell me the ring gap,and tghe de-comp clerence?
