z400 rear shocks work, u just have to grind out the lower shock mount to fit over the 92 linkage....i have done it myself. it was a aftermarket shock with a remote rezzie though...not sure if a stock one will fit with that attached rezzie.

dosn't a z 400 rear shock have a sverical bearing at one end and a fork at the other ? my shock has bearings at both ends so how is this going to work? could you post some pics of you shock and linkage?

Then you dont have a 91-92 ... the 91-92's have a lower fork mount.... 85-90 have bearings... what is the 10th digit on your frame... it should be a letter, what is it? That will tell you what year you have
