400ex carb help

hey yet another carb question. but do u have to remove the whole carb completely or can u just take the top plate off and change the main from there when u remove the gas tank. thanks

flip the carb up and take off the 17mm nut and the main jets right there

moddedblaster20 is saying you leave the carb installed but loosen the two clamps holding it to the air boot. Then rotate the carb enough to where you can see the big hex cap on the very bottom of the carb. Remove the hex cap and your main jet is inside.

i don't do anything other than take the plug off the bottom. i don't turn the carb. you won't be able to see the jet this way but with a 1/4 inch drive ratchet and a short 6mm socket you can feel the socket go on the jet and just take it out. then put the jet in the socket and thread it in by hand then tighten it a little with the ratchet. 5 minutes tops.
