I was wanting to know how well the reliability is if i bore my 2002 400ex to a 426, 11:1 comp. The exhaust is going to be looney tuned duals for sure. And i might go with a cam. I just wanted to know if id be working on it frequently. For extra reliability, i was going to get hd head studs and hd valve springs just as a precaution. Also, would race fuel be necessary for a 11:1 comp?

Why not post this in the 400ex section?
But ya it would be fine. Not much more if any more work than a stock bore just regular maintenance like every bike needs.
You should be safe with 11:1 on pump gas as long as your not running an advanced timing key.
O and BTW welcome to the site

Ive been on the same bore/piston for 4-5 years, and its still going strong. Just do your regular preventative maintenance
