can anybody that has a yfz450 fcr carb on their 400ex post some pics of their setup? ive got a fcr carb and throttle cable and tried mounting it up for a test fit. the fuel on/off valve hits on the carb and I guess i'll have to put some spacers under the tank to make it fit right. and im gonna have to rig up something for the airbox boot to connect to the carb. if anybody has some good pics of their setup i'd really appreciate it.

....and ive already did some searching.......didnt find squat :o

look at this thread, page 3 specifically http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=416903
its not an fcr but its pretty much exactly what your going to have to do.
flyboy1294 uses an fcr, you could pm him and ask for pics. his is off of a crf450r but all the fcr's are pretty much the same, just the hot starts in a different location than yours which doesnt matter especially sense the yfz450 fcr has the hotstart plugged from the factory.

thanks for the pics, but with mine im gonna have to use the airbox and boot (xc bike). and my carb is shaped slightly different than that carb, its only got one throttle cable and the part that hits the tank is on the left side where the little sensor is (which I removed and pluged the hole). I guess i'll just have to wait for a decent warm day to wash my bike and try mounting it up and go from there.

well I got my yfz carb installed and overall it worked out nice. its deffinatly a tight fit......with just a HAIR clearance between the starter and bottom of the carb, and I had to space up the rear of the gas tank a little with some thicker foam on the heat shield. and for the airbox boot I went to lowes and found a rubber pipe coupler in the plumbing isle that worked fine with a little trimming. and whats funny is that it seems to run fine with the jets I put in it, 168 main and 65 pilot, just a guess to start off with. when its cold it spits and sputters on the low end, but after its warmed up good its got really nice response on the lowend and pulls noticably stronger in the mid range and topend compared to the stock carb. and it revs alot quicker with this carb too. i'll post up some pics later on when it warms up and I wash my bike, right now its pretty nasty :blah:

Look up ericcrip. There are pics of the fcr carb on a 400ex. And no spacer's under the tank. But there is a small spacer from the air box.
