Could anyone tell me why guys are lowering there subframes or buying walsh's subfrme

is anyone here running a walsh adjustable subframe? just wanting to know if everything fits up ok with it installed? like the plastics and seat etc. Just thought if you lower the rear wouldn't you end up with a gap where the plastics meet? and also a gap between the fuel tank and seat?
